Spelling Practice
Spelling tests for English will begin in October and will be every Thursday.
Spelling homework for 3rd grade is located on the backside of the English reading log. It includes spelling practice activities that students will complete at home nightly.
Spelling words will be sent home with students in their English homework folder starting in October. Students will need to be able to spell the words and sort them in their phonetic pattern for the spelling test. Students will write their spelling words in their phonetic sorts during class on the bottom of the spelling homework sheet. They will also receive a copy of the spelling words on a yellow or green sheet. These words need to be cut to make flash cards to practice sorting at home as part of the spelling homework. If you need a new copy of the spelling homework sheet or a new copy of the spelling words in their phonetic sorts, click below. There are two spelling groups in each class. The yellow spelling group receives their words on yellow paper and the green group receives their words on green paper.
